Description
Balushahi is a famous North Indian sweet. In south India, the same sweet is called as badusha.
INGREDIENTS:
for balushahi dough:
–2 cups all-purpose flour or 250 grams
-¼ cup ghee or 60 grams ghee
-¼ cup fresh curd or 60 grams curd
-8 to 9 tablespoons cold water for kneading or as required
-1 pinch salt
-1 pinch baking soda
-½ teaspoon baking powder
for sugar syrup:
–1 heaped cup sugar or 200 grams sugar
-½ cup water
-½ to 1 teaspoon cardamom powder – add as required
-10 to 12 saffron strands
-a few drops of lemon juice – optional
other ingredient:
–oil or ghee for deep frying, as required
