Description

Haldiram’s Chakoli is a traditional south Indian snack. Haldiram’s Chakoli is a deep fried snack. It is made of rice flour, gram flour, wheat flour or a lentil flour. This is known as murukku in Tamil. They are a must snack for Diwali. They are also spiced up with some selected spices. They taste mildly spicy. They are made spiral in shape. Their shape somewhat resembles jalebi. Dough is prepared with all the ingredients mixed together. All the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. They are made into thick dough and made into spiral shapes with the help of chakoli making hand machines. After they are made into proper shapes they are dropped into hot oil and deep fried until they get cooked. They become dark brown in colour when cooked. After sometimes when they cool down they become hard and crunchy. The best part of this product is that they can be stored in an airtight jar for many days even months. This snack from haldiram has the exact same authentic taste as it is traditionally prepared at home. Therefore now people prefer to buy chakoli from the market than preparing them at home which is a very tiring work.
